Role Overview

Senior Risk & Compliance plays a critical role in strengthening DSGPay’s regulatory compliance and risk governance structure. Reporting to Global Head of Risk & Compliance and CEO, the role is responsible for implementing compliance policies, monitoring regulatory obligations, and supporting enterprise-wide risk management initiatives to safeguard the organization’s integrity and regulatory standing.

The role works closely with executive leadership, regulatory authorities, and cross-functional teams and is an on-site position at Kuala Lumpur office, also collaborating with the Compliance team based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, ensuring alignment between regional execution and group-wide compliance and risk frameworks.

Job Requirements

Compliance Management

  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the company’s compliance program in line with applicable financial regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments (including AML, KYC, CFT, sanctions, and local regulatory requirements) and ensure timely updates to policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Provide compliance advisory support to senior management and business units on regulatory requirements, risk exposure, and control effectiveness.
  • Oversee the execution of compliance training programs to ensure employees understand regulatory obligations and internal compliance standards.
  • Assist in regulatory reporting and act as a key point of contact during regulatory inquiries, examinations, and audits.

Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and monitor compliance and operational risks across the organization.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the enterprise risk management framework, including risk assessments, risk registers, and mitigation plans.
  • Work closely with internal audit, legal, operations, and technology teams to identify gaps and implement effective risk controls.
  • Track, investigate, and report compliance breaches, incidents, and risk issues to the Head of Compliance & Risk and CEO.

Governance & Reporting

  • Prepare regular compliance and risk reports for senior management and the board, including key risk indicators (KRIs) and compliance metrics.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for regulatory and audit purposes.
  • Support the enhancement of monitoring and reporting systems related to compliance and risk matters.

Leadership & Management

  • Manage and mentor compliance team members, ensuring high-quality execution of compliance and risk activities.
  • Collaborate with regional compliance teams, including the Chiang Mai office, to promote consistency, accountability, and a strong compliance culture across the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in compliance and/or risk management within the financial services industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial regulations, including AML, KYC, CFT, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing compliance controls and risk mitigation strategies in a regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk and recommend practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong proficiency in written and spoken English, and the ability to engage effectively with senior management and regulators.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring compliance professionals is highly preferred.
