Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payment Specialist to oversee and optimize Payment Operations while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service delivery. This role is ideal for a payments professional with strong operational expertise, analytical capabilities, and a deep understanding of domestic and international payment processes.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing payment workflows, supporting operational improvements, maintaining regulatory compliance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless transaction processing.

Job Requirements

Payment Operations & Processing

  • Manage end-to-end payment operations, including account onboarding, transaction processing, settlements, reconciliations, and liquidity monitoring.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient execution of domestic and international payment transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve payment exceptions, transaction discrepancies, and operational issues.
  • Monitor daily payment activities and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all payment activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Support operational risk assessments and implement appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
  • Assist with compliance reviews, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
  • Support automation initiatives and technology enhancements related to payment operations.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of operational procedures and controls.


Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments (Business Development, Compliance, Treasury, Finance, Product, and Technology teams) to ensure secure and efficient payment workflows.
  • Act as a key operational contact for banks, payment partners, and third-party service providers.
  • Support partner onboarding, operational integration, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related inquiries and operational challenges.

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for payment operations and settlement processes.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing to team members on payment procedures and industry standards.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, payment regulations, and emerging technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payment operations, financial services operations, banking operations, fintech, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international payment processes, including SWIFT, IBAN, ABA Routing Numbers, BSB Codes, and other global payment rails.
  • Good understanding of operational risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payment platforms, reconciliation processes, and transaction monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Experience in fintech, digital payments, remittance, or cross-border payments is highly preferred.
